My growing belly: Month 5

Week 18

 The baby bump keeps growing.  I have noticed a little more back pain this week.  I also noticed the top of my belly button is starting to pop out.  Soon, I am told I should be able to feel the baby move. 

Today I toured the birthplace at Fairview Southdale.  Last year they finished a renovation on the post partum rooms.  They look nice.  I have to stay the labor and delivery rooms could use an update soon.  There is only so much money to go around though.  They are renovating the special care nursery now.  It will be done before we are due.  I hope our baby does not have to utilize it but it will be nice to have ready if needed.

I found out 3 of the labor rooms have a tub you can labor in.  I hope to get one of those!  I would love to labor in water.  It supposedly lessens the pain.  I think it may help relax me too.  We'll see if I am luckily enough to snag one.  

Start of month 5

They also have birthing ball available.  I was glad because I didn't want to have to drag mine in from home.  There is no soft lighting  in the labor room but I am hoping Matt will be willing to bring one from home. 

All in all it looks like a fine place to give birth.  One perk is the post partum massage and pedicures.  I hope to schedule one of those as soon as I get there.
